"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

I see you have favourited a piece of fanart.... 2 actually. Though the pieces you favourited are what, around 10X better than the ones you bashed, they are all fanart. They are all 'not original'.
But, I would also like to say that although you may see this acknowledged this as an art site, you have not posted any works of 'art'. Post whatever you want, a crappy 3 yr old standard drawing, just make sure whatever it is is true to your word.

Actually the whole purpose of fan art is to draw some ones else's character in your ORIGINAL STYLE. In that case the character has little to do with how original the entire piece is.
Well, Mr. "Everyone is drowning in the cespool of ignorance", There are different kinds of art. Theres comic art, line art, sketch art, art that depicts emotion, art that depicts events, ect. You seem to only think about one or certain types of artwork, so thats something that you may want to consider, try to think in a broader perspective of art.
Oh, and for the record, this is a place of POSOTIVE feed back on artwork. If you want to to give NEGATIVE feedback, either:
a) Post some of your own artwork and show us how ignorant and untalanted we are, or,
b) go to Fanart Central and never come back.

Yea there are different kinds of art. I'm quite aware of that. THIS PICTURE however is just an imitation of an art style that they hardly understand.
You don't have to have pictures posted in to have a valid opinion on art, in the same way you don't have to be a police officer to know something is illegal.
